Turkmen art is spread across the world

An article entitled "Turkmen embroidery as the source of inspiration” was published in the recent edition of “ICH Courier” magazine of the International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO, located in the Republic of Korea.

The article described in details the ongoing cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNESCO, covering the rich cultural heritage of Turkmen people, its traditions, attires, ornaments and decorations, especially the traditional handcrafts of women - Turkmen embroidery.

As it is well know from the history, the Turkmen women’s art of embroidery is one of the oldest handcrafts professions. Embroidery is part of our national attire. Our gifted and warmhearted grandmothers created a variety of designs and patterns to decorate our national clothes.
