The delegation of Turkmenistan participated in the International Medical Conference held in Seoul

The delegation of Turkmenistan, headed by the Deputy Minister of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan Mr. Azat Ovezov, visited the Republic of Korea with the purpose of participating in the International Conference titled "Medical Korea 2024 - The 14th Global Healthcare & Medical Tourism Conference", which took place in Seoul on March 14-15, 2024.

The motto of this annual conference was devoted to the healthcare and medical tourism. High-level official delegations, scientists and experts in the field of healthcare from all over the world attended this event. The Forum served as a platform for participants from different countries to discuss the main tasks and trends in field of healthcare.

During the visit to Seoul, the Turkmen delegation held bilateral talks with the delegation from the Ministry of Health and Welfare of the Republic of Korea, headed the Deputy Minister Mrs. Kim Hye-jin. During the meeting, the Sides discussed the important issues of existing cooperation in the field of healthcare and medicine between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea, as well as exchanged views on setting the priority tasks in order to further expand and strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.

Additionally, the delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan held several bilateral meetings. During the meeting with the President of the National Institute for Korean Medicine Development (NIKOM) Mr. Jeong Chang Hyun, the Sides paid special attention to the issues related to the establishment of the Traditional Korean Medicine Center, which is scheduled to be established in Turkmenistan, and exchanged views on the joint works that eventually need to be carried out.

Furthermore, during the visit to the Republic of Korea, a meeting with the delegation from Kyungpook National University’s Chilgok Hospital, led by Professor of Mammography at Kyungpook National University Dr. Kim Won-hwa, was held.
