A briefing dedicated to the declaration of 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust” and to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent Neutrality
On February 20, a briefing was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea to mark the declaration of 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust” and to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent Neutrality. The event was attended by senior officials and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea and the Secretariat of the “Central Asia–Republic of Korea” Cooperation Forum, heads of diplomatic missions of Central Asian states accredited in the Republic of Korea, scientists and political experts, representatives of cultural associations, as well as representatives of mass media such as “Korea Herald”, “Korea Times”, “Korea Joongang Daily”, “Korea Post”, “Seoul City News”, “Diplomacy Journal (UN Journal)”, “Korea IT Times”.
During the conference, His Excellency Mr. B. Durdyyev, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea, highlighted the significant political, diplomatic, economic, and investment initiatives, as well as various cultural events, that will be organized throughout the year. Particular emphasis was placed on the high-level events planned in observance of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent Neutrality in 2025.
The briefing also featured information on major programs and ambitious projects currently being implemented in Turkmenistan under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Attendees were informed about the international initiatives put forward by Turkmenistan in connection with the “International Year of Peace and Trust”, as well as the Concept of our country's activities and priorities for this year. It was underscored that events in 2025-coinciding with the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Permanent Neutrality, the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, and the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea - hold particular importance and profound significance for Turkmenistan’s foreign policy and diplomatic engagements.
The press conference included presentations of the new book by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov entitled "Magtymguly – the Sage of the World" and the new book by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov entitled " Jewel of the Mind". In addition, during the event, an exhibition of works written by our Hero Arkadag and esteemed President, as well as Turkmen national costumes and decorative and applied arts was held.
At the end of the event, the guests were served national Turkmen dishes.
