THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN RECEIVED REPRESENTATIVES OF THE DELEGATION OF UZBEKISTAN

On August 26, 2022, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Imamovich Norov and Deputy Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on foreign policy issues Abdulaziz Khafizovich Kamilov, who arrived in the capital of Turkmenistan to participate in the Turkmen -Uzbek political consultations.

Expressing gratitude for the time taken, the guests conveyed warm greetings from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the head of the Parliament of Uzbekistan to the President of Turkmenistan, as well as the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, confirming their country's commitment to intensifying the multi-vector strategic partnership with Turkmenistan.

Thanking for the kind words, the head of state, on his own behalf and on behalf of the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, addressed the best wishes in return to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the head of the Parliament of Uzbekistan, emphasizing Turkmenistan's commitment to friendship, good neighborliness and fruitful cooperation with fraternal Uzbekistan, whose peoples are united commonality of spiritual traditions and historical and cultural ties that have developed over the centuries.

During the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Foreign Policy Affairs, as well as the Acting Foreign Minister of the friendly country, exchanged views on priority issues of bilateral and regional partnership.

A separate topic of the meeting was the prospects for expanding Turkmen-Uzbek cooperation in the context of the implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Uzbekistan in July this year, and a solid package of bilateral documents signed following the visit.

Having noted with satisfaction the existing impressive potential for intensifying productive and long-term cooperation between the fraternal countries and peoples, the interlocutors reaffirmed their readiness to ensure its effective implementation.

At the end of the meeting, having noted with satisfaction the high level of interstate relations, the head of Turkmenistan and his guests expressed confidence in the further successful development of the Turkmen-Uzbek dialogue, built on the principles of mutual respect, equality and consideration of mutual interests.
