THE TURKMEN-IRANIAN BUSINESS FORUM WAS HELD IN ASHGABAT

On March 2, 2018, within the framework of the XIV specialized exhibition of the Islamic Republic of Iran, opened in the capital, a Turkmen-Iranian business forum was held in the conference hall of the Turkmen Chamber of Commerce and Industry, dedicated to various areas of trade and economic cooperation.

Heads of 65 Iranian companies and enterprises representing industrial centers of Khorasan, Mazandaran, Gulistan, Birjand city, as well as the specialized economic zone of Serakhs and others took part in the meeting. From the Turkmen side representatives of the sectoral ministries, departments and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs were represented.

During the forum, a video was shown to the guests, telling the story of the implementation of large-scale reform programs affecting all spheres of the life of the Turkmen state and society. There was also a presentation on the economy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Transport and communications, electric power, construction, chemical industry, agriculture, food productions were named among the priority areas of cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the issues of cooperation in the agro-industrial complex, in particular, the construction of new livestock and poultry complexes, greenhouse production, the introduction of advanced developments in the field of biotechnology.

Participants noted that the current meeting is intended to become yet another practical step in trade and economic cooperation activation, identifying new directions and mechanisms for long term business partnership. This is facilitated by the favorable investment climate created in both countries, the dynamically developing domestic market, the widespread introduction of advanced technologies and innovations.

Within the framework of the business forum bilateral meetings were held between representatives of various departments and business circles of the two countries, during which the possibilities of implementing joint projects were discussed.
