A MEETING DEVOTED TO THE COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF MASS MEDIA WAS HELD IN SEOUL

On January 30, 2024, a meeting with the CEO of The Korea Herald news agency Mr. Choi Jin-young was held in the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea. The meeting was also attended by a well-known journalist of the agency Mr. Sanjay Kumar.

During the meeting, the Sides discussed issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea in the field of mass media, including possibilities of further cooperation in publishing materials on domestic and foreign policy of Turkmenistan on the media holding’s platform.

During the talks, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea H.E. Mr. Begench Durdyyev informed the Korean Side about the large-scale transformations currently taking place in Turkmenistan. Special attention was paid to the issues of information policy of our country.

The Turkmen side emphasized the importance of establishing cooperation with the news agencies of the Republic of Korea. In this regard, the exchange of news and information materials on current events and achievements of the two countries was highlighted as the main direction of cooperation.

Ambassador noted that the year 2024 in Turkmenistan was declared as the year of “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi”, which implies holding various events, both at the national and international levels, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great poet and thinker of the East Magtymguly Fragi. Furthermore, it was emphasized that declaring this year as the “Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world Magtymguly Fragi” by the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) is a vivid example of the world recognition of Magtymguly's work. It was further noted that the ancient Turkmen city of Anew was designated as the cultural capital of the Turkic world.

A promotional video about the development of cooperation between the two countries was also demonstrated during the meeting.
