NEGOTIATIONS AT THE MFA OF TURKMENISTAN WITH THE DELEGATION OF THE STATE OF KUWAIT

On June 4, 2018 in Ashgabat, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan had a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Kuwait in Turkmenistan Majdi Ahmad Al-Dhafiri who arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit.

During the talks, the sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. The importance of the top-level talks was emphasized in the context of identifying key cooperation vectors with the State of Kuwait on a long-term basis. As is known, during the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Kuwait in March this year, a solid package of bilateral documents had been signed. In this regard, the parties conducted a thorough analysis of the implementation of interstate agreements reached during the visit.

The sides also discussed a wide range of regional and international issues of mutual interest and noted the need for continuing bilateral consultations in regional and international organizations, primarily the UN and its specialized agencies that form the basis of multilateral cooperation.

Regarding humanitarian contacts, the parties agreed to establish cooperation in such areas as culture, science and education.
