The possibilities of the development of Turkmen-Japanese relations were discussed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan
On February 5, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Japanese delegation led by the Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of Japan Nagashima Akihisa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, current issues of bilateral Turkmen-Japanese cooperation, which is successfully developing today in a wide range of areas, were discussed.
As emphasized, a special role in expanding bilateral relations is given to high-level dialogue built on a mutually respectful and trusting basis.
The parties exchanged views on upcoming events with the participation of both countries. In this context, emphasis was placed on the participation of the Turkmen delegation in the World EXPO 2025, which will be held in the Japanese city of Osaka and the organization of the National Day of Turkmenistan within its framework.
Speaking about trade and economic partnership, which is one of the key vectors of Turkmen-Japanese relations, the parties emphasized that Turkmenistan and large Japanese companies have accumulated many years of experience in various fields, including the gas and chemical industries. The meeting participants singled out the Turkmen-Japanese and Japanese-Turkmen Committees on Economic Cooperation as an important mechanism for bilateral trade and economic cooperation. Along with this, the parties discussed issues of preparation for the First Summit within the framework of the Central Asia-Japan Dialogue.
