Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan presented copies of her credentials

On June 30, 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Turkmenistan Ms. Faryal Leghari.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ms. Leghari presented copies of her credentials to the Turkmen side.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan congratulated the Ambassador on her appointment to the responsible post and expressed readiness of the Turkmen side to provide comprehensive assistance in the successful implementation of her diplomatic mission.

During the meeting, the sides discussed key aspects of bilateral relations in political-diplomatic, trade-economic, as well as cultural-humanitarian fields.

The diplomats emphasized that regular contact at the highest state level is the main factor of the consistent development of Turkmen-Pakistani ties on a wide range of spheres.

They noted the effectiveness of partnership within the framework of regional and international structures, in particular the UN, OIC and ECO.

Speaking about the significance of the International Year of Peace and Trust and the upcoming International Forum in honor of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, the Foreign Minister underlined that the Islamabad Declaration of 1995 was one of the first international documents that laid the foundation for the Resolution “On the Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan” unanimously adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on December 12, 1995.

In addition, the sides discussed cooperation on energy and transport . The sides touched upon the construction of a transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India, power transmission lines, as well as a fiber-optic communications along the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan route.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Turkmenistan Ms.Faryal Leghari assured that she will make every effort to further develop cooperation between the two countries.
