On June 30, 2025, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Turkmenistan Faryal Leghari, who presented her credentials to the head of state.

Expressing gratitude for the time devoted to the meeting, the Ambassador emphasized that Pakistan highly appreciates the peace-loving policy pursued by Turkmenistan, and, taking the opportunity, conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to the President of Turkmenistan, as well as the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the Plenipotentiary Representative of Pakistan on her appointment to a high diplomatic post and wished her great success in her work aimed at further developing multilateral interstate relations.

Addressing his best wishes to the leadership of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the President of Turkmenistan noted that our countries and peoples are linked not only by friendly and fraternal relations, but also by common spiritual, cultural and historical values.

As was emphasized during the meeting, Pakistan is one of the most important partners of Turkmenistan in the South Asian region. At present, cooperation between Turkmenistan and Pakistan is successfully developing in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, energy, transport, educational and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

Trade, economic and energy cooperation occupies a special place on the agenda of Turkmen-Pakistani relations.

Currently, our countries are implementing large regional energy and communications projects, in particular, the construction of the transnational gas pipeline Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan – India, as well as a fiber-optic communication line and power transmission line along the Turkmenistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan route.

In this regard, the head of state emphasized that these projects will ultimately contribute to the socio-economic development of the entire region, expressing confidence that Faryal Leghari, as the newly appointed Ambassador, will contribute to the implementation of these major projects, coordinating the efforts of the two countries.

During the meeting, the particular importance of strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries was noted, including the development of cooperation in the fields of education, science and healthcare.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Turkmenistan Faryal Leghari once again expressed gratitude for the warm welcome, assuring that she would make every effort to further strengthen the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries.
