Ambassador B.Durdyyev took part in the opening ceremony of the conference titled “Global Cooperation Conference on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth”
On August 22, 2025, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea Begench Durdyyev took part in the opening ceremony of the conference titled “Global Cooperation Conference on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth” held in Seoul, with the participation of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, Kim Min Seok, and other members of the Government.
In his opening remarks, Prime Minister Kim Min Seok presented the plans of the new Korean Government to expand renewable energy such as solar and wind power and to establish a dedicated industrial complex for RE100 (100% renewable energy), as well as to ensure a green energy transition to achieve carbon neutrality and economic growth. He also shared information about planned efforts for greenhouse gas reduction and to cooperate with the UN and other international organizations to adapt to climate change.
During the event, Ambassador B. Durdyyev had a brief conversation with Prime Minister Kim Min Seok. At this meeting, Ambassador Durdyyev conveyed warm greetings on behalf of the Leadership of Turkmenistan and sincerely congratulated him on his appointment to this position. Meanwhile, the Ambassador noted that the Embassy is making every effort to develop high-level relations between Turkmenistan and the new Government of Korea. He also expressed hope for the strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries and wished the Prime Minister success in his new responsible position.
The Korean side expressed gratitude for the congratulations and greetings while emphasizing its great interest in developing mutually beneficial relations and cooperation with the Central Asian countries, particularly with Turkmenistan in various fields.
