The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ireland presented copies of her credentials

On September 30, 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan S.Muhammetdurdyyev met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ireland to Turkmenistan (with residence in Moscow), Ms. Claire Brosnan. At the beginning of the meeting, the Irish Ambassador presented copies of her credentials.

Congratulating the Ambassador on her appointment to this important post, the Turkmen side expressed its readiness to provide the diplomat with every assistance and support in her efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

It was noted that Turkmenistan and Ireland already have experience of cooperation within international organizations, primarily the UN, including joint co-authorship of a number of General Assembly resolutions. The parties emphasized the importance of continuing close cooperation in multilateral settings.

Particular attention was paid to expanding the legal framework for cooperation, as well as strengthening contacts between the scientific and educational institutions of the two countries.

The Irish side was invited to actively participate in upcoming international events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.

At the end of the meeting, the Ambassador assured that she would make every effort to further develop the Turkmen-Irish partnership.
