Issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNICEF discussed
On October 1, 2025, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Turkmenistan Jalpa Ratna.
During the meeting, the sides discussed cooperation issues in the context of implementing the new UNICEF Country Program for Turkmenistan for 2026-2030.
As is known, this document was approved by the UNICEF Executive Board on September 3 of this year during the second regular sessions of the executive boards of leading UN agencies in New York.
The parties exchanged views on enhancing cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and UNICEF within the framework of this Country Program, taking into account the main priorities, namely early childhood development, inclusion and social integration, the climate agenda, and youth engagement.
During the meeting, issues related to the participation of a high-level UNICEF delegation in the International Forum for Peace and Trust, scheduled to be held in Ashgabat in December this year, were also discussed.
In addition, the sides considered issues related to further strengthening of the legal basis of cooperation.
