Negotiations Held Between the Heads of the Foreign Ministries of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Austria

On 19 January 2026, a meeting was held via videoconference between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria, Beate Meinl-Reisinger.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation in the political and diplomatic, trade and economic, and cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The sides highly praised the cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Austria within multilateral frameworks, including the United Nations, the European Union, and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

In this context, the diplomats considered the possibilities for organizing meetings at the highest and high levels during the current year.

In addition, an exchange of views took place on international issues of mutual interest.
