Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan met with Turkmen students studying in the Republic of Korea

On April 7, 2026, a meeting was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan A. Gurbanov and Turkmen students studying at higher education institutions in the Republic of Korea. The event was dedicated to discussing about the lives and studies of our youth studying in the friendly country, as well as informing them about the historic reforms being carried out in our country.

During the meeting, participants were provided with detailed information about the outcomes of significant political events taking place in the life of our country. In particular, the importance of 2026 being declared the year of “Independent neutral Turkmenistan is the homeland of purposeful winged horses” was highlighted.

The meeting also drew special attention to the relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea which are advancing to a new level. In this context, students were informed of the first “Central Asia-Republic of Korea” Summit, scheduled to take place in the Republic of Korea in September 2026, as well as the visit of the President of Turkmenistan in the frameworks of the Summit. It was underscored that this high-level Summit is aimed to further consolidate bilateral cooperation across political, economic, and cultural-humanitarian dimensions.

The meeting reaffirmed the strong confidence of the Government of Turkmenistan in the younger generation and its commitment to ensuring that all necessary conditions are in place for students to receive a modern, high-quality education. The Deputy Minister expressed personal interest in the students' academic achievements and living arrangements and engaged in a question-and-answer exchange on matters of interest to them.
