Consular consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea took place in Seoul

On April 8, 2026, consular consultations were held between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea in Seoul.

The Turkmen side was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov, and the Korean side by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea for Public Diplomacy Lim Sang-woo.

In accordance with the consultation agenda, current issues of bilateral cooperation in the consular sphere were discussed.

An exchange of views took place on the development of interaction between the consular services of the two countries. In this regard, the parties emphasized the importance of holding regular bilateral consular consultations between the foreign policy agencies of both countries, with the aim of further intensifying cooperation and studying best practices.

Special attention was paid to stepping up efforts to improve and update the legal framework.

The parties confirmed their readiness for the continued strengthening of partnership across the full range of consular matters.
