Meeting with the Executive director of the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations

On July 15, 2026, a meeting took place at the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Mähri Bäşimova and Michael Harms, Executive Director of the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations (Ost-Ausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft).

In the course of a constructive conversation, the parties noted with satisfaction the high level of traditionally friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Federal Republic of Germany.

Particular attention was paid to deepening trade and economic ties. In this context, the parties discussed prospects for introducing advanced German technologies into the modernization of Turkmenistan's industrial sector. They also considered opportunities for cooperation in conventional energy, the deployment of renewable energy sources (RES), and the rational use of water resources.

The high potential of Turkmenistan as a key logistics hub was highlighted, and interest was expressed in joint infrastructure development projects.

The parties also outlined ways to strengthen engagement with German financial institutions in support of joint investment projects.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further expanding dialogue.
