A MEETING WITH A DELEGATION OF THE KOREA-CENTRAL ASIA FRIENDSHIP ASSOCIATION TOOK PLACE AT THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF TURKMENISTAN

On October 1, 2018, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with a delegation of the Korea-Central Asia Friendship Association headed by the President of the Association, Mrs. Lee Ok Ryon, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit.

At the beginning of the meeting, the president of the Association thanked the Turkmen side for the warm welcome and expressed gratitude for the ongoing cooperation. The sides discussed issues of development of bilateral cooperation between Turkmenistan and South Korea. Noting the need to expand cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, the parties considered further steps for its implementation. Also during the meeting, cooperation in the field of agriculture was noted as promising areas of cooperation. Noting the wealth and fertility of the Turkmen land, the Korean side expressed a desire to technologically support and a willingness to share a wealth of experience by contributing to the agricultural sector of Turkmenistan.

During the talks, the president of the Korea-Central Asia Friendship Association noted the stable growth of the economy of Turkmenistan, and highly appreciated the neutral status and peaceful nature of Turkmenistan's foreign policy.

In conclusion, the parties focused on cooperation in the field of culture. The Turkmen side highlighted the role of Mrs. Lee Ok Ryon, thanking for her contribution to strengthening cultural relations between the two countries.
