THE 14TH SESSION OF THE SPECA GOVERNING COUNCIL WAS HELD IN ASHGABAT

On November 21, 2019, the 14th Session of the Governing Council, the highest managing body of the UN Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) was held in the hotel “Yildiz.”  This was the round-up  of the “SPECA Days” in Ashgabat.

The representatives of the SPECA states-participants, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), as well as the specialists working in the sphere of economy and development, trade and transport participated to the meeting.  

During the meeting, the results of the work in the framework of SPECA in current year were regarded, the reports of the Working Groups were discussed, and the priority vectors of cooperation for the future period were assigned. 

The participants noted the high organizational level of the “SPECA Days” in Ashgabat and agreed to continue the work for the attainment of higher steps of cooperation in the SPECA region, including the integration into the world economy and enhancement of the transboundary collaboration with the aim of reaching the Sustainable Development Goals.
