As it was emphasized, the development of relations based on friendship and mutual respect with the states of the world, first of all, with the closest neighbors, is one of the priority directions of Turkmenistan's foreign policy.

Noting that the benevolent relations of the Turkmen and Iranian peoples have centuries-old common historical and cultural roots, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted with satisfaction that at present political, economic and humanitarian ties between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran continue to actively develop on the principles of equality and mutual respect. It was also noted that the partnership between the two countries within the framework of authoritative organizations, in particular, the UN and its structural divisions, is also distinguished by a high level.

A separate topic of discussion was the coronavirus pandemic, which is relevant to the global agenda, the rapid spread of which on a global scale has a negative impact on all aspects of international relations.

According to Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, our country fully supports the efforts made by the world community in the fight against COVID-19, which has become universal, and considers it necessary to develop coordinated steps to successfully counter this threat. Only by uniting the efforts of all countries can good results be achieved, the President of Turkmenistan highlighted.
