Turkmenistan establishes cooperation with Korean stock exchange

On November 3, 2021, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan Mr. Toily Malikov, together with the management of the Ashgabat Stock Exchange, held online meeting with representatives of the stock exchanges of the Republic of Korea (KRX Korea Exchange).

The purpose of the business meetings was to establish cooperation and to discuss possible areas of mutually beneficial partnership. Special attention was paid to the exchange of experience in the development of the securities market and creation of favorable conditions for the successful operation of stock exchanges.

The law of Turkmenistan "on the securities market" entered into force in 2014 in order to develop the country's market economy. Since then, dozens of large Turkmen state-owned enterprises were transformed into open joint stock companies, which led to establishment of the Ashgabat Stock Exchange. This year, the shares of the Senagat Joint Stock Commercial Bank went on free sale.
