The President of Turkmenistan and the Foreign Minister of Malaysia discuss actual directions of cooperation

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia Dato Sri Anifah Aman. 

Having expressed the gratitude for cordial welcome on Turkmen land, the guest conveyed the greetings of the leaders of Malaysia who addressed sincere wishes of happiness and prosperity to the President and people of our country. 

It was highlighted that Malaysia pays great attention to the development of cooperation with Turkmenistan, which is thought to be one of the important and perspective partners. At the same time, it was emphasized that the relation between two countries are distinguished by high level of trust and understanding. 

Taking the opportunity, the guest expressed sincere delight with dynamic rates of the development of Ashgabat, which becomes more beautiful with every year and noted that significant changes in architectural appearance of the capital are the result of creative policy of Turkmen leader that is aimed at the prosperity of the country. 

Having expressed the gratitude for warm words, the Head of the State conveyed return wishes to the leaders of friendly country, having highlighted that consolidation of fruitful relations with the countries of Asian Pacific region including Malaysia, which one of dynamically developing states of the world, is one of the priority directions of foreign policy course of neutral Turkmenistan. 

During the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and the head of foreign department of Malaysia exchanged the opinions on actual directions of interstate relations, which are owing to the efforts of the sides have entered new level in the last years. Having stated with delight the presence of considerable potential and wide opportunities for activation of efficient partnership in different spheres, the Head of the State and his guest made special mention of the cooperation in oil and gas sector, which is strategic direction for the economy of both countries. 

Having spoken for further consolidation of constructive political dialog and increase of trade and economic relations, Turkmen leader and the Foreign Minister of Malaysia also highlighted the importance f stimulation of humanitarian and cultural contacts supporting the consolidation of friendship relations between two nations. 

In addition, it was highlighted that constructive character is invariable inherent to Turkmen- Malaysian cooperation under competent regional and international organizations. Both countries demonstrate the similarity of the approaches and views on the key subjects of global agenda, first of all, related to the consolidation of peace and security supporting sustainable development. 

In the end, the President of Turkmenistan and Foreign Minister of Malaysia shared good wishes, having expressed the confidence in steadfast development of beneficial cooperation built on long-term basis taking into account national interests and priorities of the development of friendly countries. 

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to Turkmenistan Roseli Bin Abdul also took part in the meeting.
