The President of Turkmenistan and the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea discuss the priorities of interstate cooperation

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Turkmenistan Jin Ki-Hun who presented his credentials to the Head of the State. 

Having expressed the gratitude for spared time for the audience, the diplomat conveyed warm greetings from President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in to the Head of Turkmenistan. Having confirmed the commitment of his country to traditionally friendly dialog with neutral Turkmenistan, Jin Ki-Hun noted that recently, bilateral relations acquired new content. 

Having conveyed warm greetings to his Korean colleague, Turkmen leader congratulated the diplomat on the appointment to responsible post and wished his great success in his mission aimed at the intensification of beneficial partnership, which is successfully developed in bilateral and multilateral format including under large international organizations and structures. 

Continuing the meeting, the Head of the State and the Ambassador exchanged the opinions on the perspectives of the development of interstate cooperation in wide spectrum of directions including in trade and economic sphere. At the same time, consolidation of efforts in such fields as construction, energy and transport, which Turkmenistan made important initiatives related to the formation of international transit and transport corridors providing optimum economic routes for cargo trafficking, seemed to be perspective. 

Having highlighted the interest of Korean business in consolidation of its positions in perspective Turkmen market, the diplomat expressed sincere gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the support in this direction. In this context, considerable role is given to the activity of Joint Inter-Governmental Commission and bilateral business forums, which support the consolidation and intensification of efficient partnership. 

Humanitarian sphere where special attention is paid to the activation of cultural, scientific and education relations as important factor of consolidation of friendship and understanding between two nations was highlighted among the priority vectors of cooperation. The fact of Korean language study in our country, programme of educational exchanges and expansion of the connection with the leading Korean Universities were given as an example. The perspectivity of the partnership in tourism, sports and modern information technologies was also highlighted. 

Having expressed the gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for active interest in Turkmen - Korean cooperation, the diplomat emphasized that it is a great honour for him to represent his country in Turkmenistan. Jin Ki-Hun assured that he would comprehensively support the consolidation of interstate relations. 

At the end of the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea expressed the confidence that traditional partnership between the countries would be dynamically developed getting new content.
