International organizations show interest in Arkadag city

On February 1, 2023, a bilateral meeting between the Director-General of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) Mr. Frank Rijsberman and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea H.E. Mr. Begench Durdyyev was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea.

As a member of the GGGI, Turkmenistan plans to develop its ecological diplomacy within the framework of goals and tasks of this organization.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the priority areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and GGGI, including the future projects and programs, such as environmental protection and development of the green economy. Both sides noted that Turkmenistan takes an important and active role in solving the global issues related to protection of environment, as well as the efficient usage of natural resources.

Also during the meeting, the representatives of the GGGI were briefed in detail by the Ambassador Begench Durdyyev about the process of construction of the new Arkadag city. The concept of a new "smart city", which is built as a result of great efforts of the honored architect  of Turkmenistan - the Hero Arkadag, introduces the advanced practices of modern architecture and the use of the environmentally friendly construction materials. "Smart" video surveillance systems, as well as information and communication technologies, which will be managed through a digital single network, will ensure the safety around residential buildings, institutions, as well as on streets of the city. The public transportation of the Arkadag city will consist of the environmentally friendly electric buses, as well as the electric cars.

The use of environmentally friendly construction materials in the buildings and facilities of the Arkadag city of the Ahal region fully corresponds to the goals of the GGGI. A great interest shown by the GGGI  Institute to the Arkadag city should be emphasized.
