An event dedicated to the 300 th Anniversary of birth of Magtymguly Fragi was held in Singapore
On March 20, 2024, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea and to the Republic of Singapore H.E. Mr. Begench Durdyyev held a lecture titled "Turkmenistan in 2024, the Year of Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi" for the faculty members and the students of the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS). The event was dedicated to the slogan of this year, as well as to the 300th Anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi.
During the lecture, the participants were informed about the life and works of Magtymguly. In addition, they were familiarized with the foreign and domestic policy of Turkmenistan, its dynamic economic developments, as well as transformations implemented in the sphere of education and youth policy.
During his speech, Ambassador Durdyyev presented to the audience the recently built "smart" city of Arkadag. In addition, he noted that the ancient Turkmen city of Anau was declared by the International Organization of Turkic Culture “TÜRKSOY” as the Cultural capital of the Turkic world this year, and 2024 was proclaimed as the “Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world Magtymguly Fragi”.
A special attention during the lecture was paid to the development and prospects of Turkmen-Singaporean relations.
Promotional videos dedicated to the recent developments in Turkmenistan, as well as to the jubilee of Magtymguly Fragi were demonstrated to the participants of the event.
After concluding the lecture, Ambassador Durdyyev met with the President of MDIS Dr. Eric Kuan. During the meeting, the Sides discussed the issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Singapore in the field of education, including the matters related to the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management and the Management Development Institute of Singapore in 2019.
