On the meeting of the Minister of foreign affairs of Turkmenistan with the Ambassador of the PRC

On 28 April 2026, Minister of foreign affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Turkmenistan Ji Shuming. The meeting focused on the practical implementation of agreements reached at the state and government levels in March-April of this year.

In particular, it was emphasised that, in reviewing prospects for Turkmenistan-PRC cooperation, the priority areas of bilateral partnership were identified as the gas sector, transport and logistics, and mineral fertiliser production.

In this regard, the diplomats exchanged views on the forms and substance of the forthcoming joint work aimed at implementing projects in the above-mentioned areas.

At the same time, high importance was noted for cooperation in the social sphere, primarily in such areas as education, science, and medicine.

The parties agreed to continue the political-diplomatic dialogue on the implementation of instructions from the leadership of both countries on a regular and systematic basis.
