A meeting with the Country Director of UNFPA in Turkmenistan was held

On March 25, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Country Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Turkmenistan Chinwe Ogbonna.

At the beginning of the meeting, congratulating the guest on his appointment as UNFPA Country Director in Turkmenistan, R. Meredov wished the diplomat success and new achievements in her mission aimed at developing Turkmenistan's cooperation with this international structure.

During the meeting, the diplomats noted the high level of interaction and agreed on the further development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNFPA. In this context, the fruitfulness of joint actions within the framework of the comprehensive implementation of the UNFPA Country Program for Turkmenistan for the period 2021-2025 was emphasized.

Cooperation in improving reproductive and maternal health, gender equality, demography, as well as promoting healthy social and gender norms among young people were highlighted among the main areas of bilateral interaction.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed mutual interest in further developing the partnership.
