Delegation of Turkmenistan participated in the first meeting of Termez Dialogue on connectivity between Central and South Asia

On May 20, 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov participated in the first meeting of Termez Dialogue on connectivity between Central and South Asia under the title: “Common Space of Peace, Friendship and Prosperity”.

The meeting was attended by heads of foreign policy agencies, experts of analytical and research centers of Central and South Asian countries, representatives of financial institutions, international and regional organizations.

The participants of the event discussed the current state and prospects of interregional interaction between Central and South Asia, including strengthening cooperation in ensuring security, stability and sustainable development, as well as expanding the role of the private sector and financial structures in ensuring economic growth.

Addressing the meeting, the delegation of Turkmenistan voiced present issues and initiatives to strengthen cooperation between Central and South Asian countries in the transport and logistics, energy, economic and humanitarian spheres.

It was stated that, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, 2025 was declared by the UN General Assembly as the “International Year of Peace and Trust”, which became a clear expression of recognition of Turkmenistan’s activities aimed at ensuring global peace and sustainable development.

Participants of the Termez Dialogue expressed their conviction that the agreements reached at the meeting contribute to further promotion of interregional interconnectivity and maintenance of peace, security and stability on the vast Eurasian continent.
