The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea took part in the opening of the exhibition “Nomadic Peoples along the Silk Road” in Gwangju

On November 25, 2025, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea B.Durdyev took part in the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Nomadic Peoples along the Silk Road," organized to mark the 10th anniversary of the National Center for Asian Culture of the Republic of Korea in Gwangju.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Korea, the administration of Gwangju city, public organizations, and the mass media.

In his remarks at the opening ceremony, Ambassador Durdyyev informed the participants about the ancient history of Turkmenistan, the mark left by our country along the Great Silk Road, its influence on the development of the region, as well as the cultural values of the Turkmen people that trace back to antiquity.

The Ambassador particularly emphasized that the heritage contributed by Turkmenistan to world civilization, as well as the country’s contribution to the development of global culture and cooperation, is thoroughly reflected in the book by the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, “Anau – culture from the depths of millennia” and in the book by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, “Turkmenistan – the heart of the Great Silk Road”. He presented these books to the participants of the event.

In addition, it was noted that Turkmenistan consistently pursues a peace-loving domestic and foreign policy, that the year 2025 has been declared the “International Year of Peace and Trust”, and that this year Turkmenistan will widely celebrate the 30th anniversary of its permanent neutrality. Special attention of the participants was drawn to the high-level international events that will be held in our country on the occasion of these significant dates.

In this regard, Ambassador B.Durdyyev invited the Korean side to actively participate at a high level in the representative International Forum, which will be held on 12 December this year in Ashgabat and will be dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan and the International Day of Neutrality.
