Embassy of Turkmenistan organizes diplomatic event to promote International Forum on Peace and Neutrality

On October 27, 2025, as part of the events organized in preparation to the forthcoming High-Level International Forum to be held in Ashgabat on December 12, 2025, dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, the International Day of Neutrality, and the 30th Anniversary of the Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea held a solemn event titled “Introduction of Turkmenistan: its foreign policy, cultural heritage and tourism opportunities.”

The event was attended by Heads of Diplomatic missions accredited to the Republic of Korea, members of the Ambassadors’ Spouses Association in Seoul (ASAS), as well as representatives of leading Korean mass media and prominent cultural organizations.

In his welcoming speech, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea Begench Durdyyev emphasized the importance of the upcoming High-Level International Forum to be held in Ashgabat on December 12, 2025, highlighting the commitment of Turkmenistan to promoting global peace, dialogue, and constructive cooperation among nations. Ambassador B.Durdyyev called upon the Korean side and other participants among the heads of foreign diplomatic missions, to ensure the active participation of their countries in this forthcoming Forum on a highest level, emphasizing that Forum will serve as a global platform for high-level dialogue on issues of peace, preventive diplomacy, sustainable development, as well as the international cooperation.

A special book exhibition was organized within the framework of the event, introducing the literary works of the President of Turkmenistan H.E. Mr. Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan H.E. Mr. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

Also a comprehensive cultural and art exhibition of the Turkmen handicraft arts, traditional Turkmen carpets, embroidery, jewelry, and national ornaments was also set up inside the traditional Turkmen yurt (Ak Öý), presenting the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of the Turkmen people.

Concluding the diplomatic event, guests were invited to taste the authentic dishes of the traditional Turkmen cuisine.
