Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EU was discussed
On November 6, 2025, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova met with Audronė Perkauskienė, Deputy Director-General for Europe and Central Asia and Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the European External Action Service.
During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the European Union, in particular the results of the Central Asia-European Union ministerial meeting held in Ashgabat in March of this year.
The meeting noted the importance of Turkmenistan's neutrality policy, which is one of the pillars of Turkmenistan's foreign policy. In this context, the parties discussed preparations for the upcoming International Forum, scheduled for December 12 of this year in Ashgabat in honor of the International Year of Peace and Trust, the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, and International Neutrality Day.
The parties also discussed issues related to the next meeting of the Turkmenistan-EU Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation.
Turkmenistan's commitment to further expanding trade and economic cooperation with EU countries was noted.
The diplomats expressed mutual interest in strengthening cooperation and implementing promising projects and programs, particularly in the areas of education, ecology, and transport.
