The Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Iraq held a telephone conversation

On November 12, 2025, a telephone conversation took place between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq Fuad Mohammed Hussein.

During the conversation, the parties discussed bilateral cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, and humanitarian spheres.

The diplomats confirmed their mutual interest in continuing close cooperation between the two countries within international organizations, primarily the UN.

They also discussed issues related to the organization of the International Forum for Peace and Trust, which will be held in Ashgabat on December 12 and will be dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, and International Neutrality Day.
