MEETING AT THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF TURKMENISTAN WITH THE NEWLY APPOINTED AMBASSADOR OF ITALY

On December 9, 2022, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Turkmenistan Luigi Ferrari at the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan.

Congratulating the Ambassador on his appointment, V.Hajiyev wished him fruitful work and success in his diplomatic activities.

Expressing gratitude for the best wishes, Ambassador Ferarri assured that he would make every effort to further strengthen relations between the two countries, to advance the Turkmen-Italian agenda.

In expanding political and diplomatic dialogue, a special place was given to active interaction within the framework of international organizations, increasing of contacts between foreign ministries, in particular, the establishment of a mechanism for regular political consultations.

The parties also exchanged views on the development of cooperation within the European Union, including the EU-Central Asia format.

Noting the great potential in the trade and economic sphere, V.Hajiyev pointed out the expediency of finding ways to increase trade turnover, including through the creation of a Business Council or a Working Group in the field of business and trade.

The diplomats noted with satisfaction the activities of a number of Italian companies in various sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan, and also outlined promising areas of bilateral partnership of mutual interest.
