Visit of the official delegation of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea
On 17 July 2023 the official delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan H.E. Mr. Baymyrat Annamammedov started its visit to the Republic of Korea.
Within the framework of the visit, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan H.E. Mr Baymyrat Annamammedov met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea H.E. Mr. Han Duck-soo.
At the beginning of the meeting, on behalf of the esteemed President of Turkmenistan His Excellency Mr. Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan His Excellency Mr. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Mr. Annamammedov conveyed warm greetings and best wishes, addressed to the President of the Republic of Korea His Excellency Mr. Yoon Suk-yeol.
The parties noted the high-level positive development of the intergovernmental relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea. Views on the future directions of the mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation, which has huge potential for growth, was also discussed. During the meeting, sides paid special attention to the issue of increasing the bilateral trade turnover.
The active participation of Korean companies in the development and modernization of important sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan demonstrates the fruitful nature of Turkmen-Korean relations. Thus, making it an important indicator of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
During his speech, B. Annamammedov noted that Turkmenistan is ready to further develop relations with the Republic of Korea in such important areas of the national economy as energy sector, chemical industry, textile industry, transport and communications, as well as agriculture.
The sides also discussed several important issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, parliamentary, trade, economy, cultural, as well as the humanitarian cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea.
The great potential of the "Central Asia-Republic of Korea" Cooperation Forum for further developing and strengthening the cooperation between the two countries was emphasized during the meeting.
Separate meetings between the heads of relevant ministries and agencies of Turkmenistan with the representatives of major Korean companies and businessmen were also held in Seoul.
