Meeting with the Chargé d’Affaires of Afghanistan in Turkmenistan

On July 26, 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov presented to Fazal Muhammad Sabir a document accrediting him in Turkmenistan as the Chargé d’Affaires of Afghanistan.

The Afghan diplomat is representing his country in Ashgabat for a number of years.

During the meeting, the parties emphasized the friendly nature of bilateral relations between two fraternal states. A wide range of issues was considered related to practical implementation of large-scale energy, transport and infrastructural international projects carried out in participation of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan.

Firstly, it is the transnational gas pipeline project Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI), construction of the power transmission and fiber-optic communication lines along the route Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan (TAP), as well as the building of railways from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan.
