On the meeting with the Chairman of the World Ethnosport Confederation

On September 26, 2024, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the son of the President of the Republic of Turkey, Chairman of the World Ethnosport Confederation Bilal Erdogan.

Warmly welcoming the guest, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty noted that he was glad to host him on the ancient and hospitable Turkmen land during the celebration of the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence and thanked him for sharing the joy of the Turkmen people on the occasion of the significant date.

Expressing gratitude for the time spent, the guest cordially congratulated the National Leader of the Turkmen people on Turkmenistan's Independence Day and conveyed warm greetings from his father, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and wishes for prosperity and well-being to the Turkmen people.

In turn, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty addressed his best wishes to the President of Turkey and noted that he recalls with particular warmth the meeting with the head of the Confederation at the opening ceremony of the 5th World Nomad Games.

During the meeting, the parties highly appreciated the bilateral relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

Speaking about the development of sports in the country, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty emphasized that Turkmenistan has extensive experience in successfully holding world-class competitions. Our state is an active participant in the international sports movement. The international competitions held in the Olympic Village of the capital are a clear confirmation of this, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized.

It was also noted that the skills of Turkmen athletes are improving, as evidenced by their successes in international tournaments.

At the end of the meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the World Ethnosport Confederation Bilal Erdogan exchanged mutual wishes for good health, happiness and great success in their work, and for the two fraternal peoples - peace, prosperity and well-being.

Then the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty presented the guest with the national pride of the Turkmen people - the Alabai dogs as a holiday gift. Bilal Erdogan, having accepted them with gratitude, expressed his sincere gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people for the gift.

As part of his stay in Turkmenistan, the head of the World Ethnosport Confederation visited the city of Arkadag, built on the initiative of the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan in accordance with the concept of "smart city", where he got acquainted with various facilities. The guest was especially delighted by the use of innovative solutions taking into account environmental requirements.
