Meeting with the President of the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization
On October 16, 2024, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova met with the President of the Eurasian Patent Office of the Eurasian Patent Organization (EAPO) Grigory Ivliev.
At the beginning of the meeting, M. Byashimova expressed gratitude for the visit and participation in the Regional Seminar on the Protection of Industrial Designs, which is held from October 16 to 17.
During the meeting, issues of the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation were discussed, including the holding of joint events between Turkmenistan and the EAPO. It was emphasized that Turkmenistan is one of the active participants of the EAPO and the first state to join its key document - the Eurasian Patent Convention.
The Turkmen side announced the country's key actions at the national level, including the active implementation of the Program for the Development of the Intellectual Property System of Turkmenistan for 2021-2025, aimed, among other things, at improving the legislative framework for the protection of intellectual property and its harmonization with international legislation.
The parties considered the possibilities of expanding practical cooperation with the EAPO, including in the area of advanced training of national personnel, as well as on legal issues related to the protection of intellectual property.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
