Meeting of the Working Group on the Development of the IAEA Country Programme Framework for 2024-2029

On October 21, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a regular meeting of the working group on the development of the Country Framework Program of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for Turkmenistan for 2024-2029. Emine Alic, Program Management Officer of the Europe Division of the IAEA Department of Technical Cooperation, also took part in the meeting via digital video link.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on key aspects of Turkmenistan's interaction with the IAEA. Particular attention was paid to the peaceful use of nuclear energy in such areas as medicine, agriculture, environmental protection and water resources management.

Cooperation in the field of medicine, in particular the fight against cancer, was identified as one of the most important areas. In this regard, the IAEA ImPACT program for monitoring joint actions, implemented in Turkmenistan, was noted.
