About the meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Turkmenistan

On December 12, 2024, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Myahri Byashimova and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden to Turkmenistan (with residence in Stockholm) Thomas Danestad, who is in Turkmenistan on the occasion of the International Day of Neutrality.

During the meeting, the sides noted the consistent development of bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and Sweden in political-diplomatic, trade and economic spheres.

Speaking about the significance of the Turkmen-Swedish political consultations held in Stockholm in September this year, the diplomats emphasized the usefulness of continuing this practice. They also noted the effectiveness of interaction between the two countries in multilateral formats, in particular within the UN and the EU.

Special focus at the meetings was made on the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation. The sides discussed specific initiatives in this regard.
