Meeting of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework between Turkmenistan and the UN for 2021-2025
On December 13, 2024, a meeting of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework between Turkmenistan and the UN for 2021-2025 was held in a hybrid format at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The meeting was attended by the heads and employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, heads and representatives of a number of ministries and departments of the country, the UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan, heads and representatives of UN departments.
The participants of the meeting noted that the Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework is one of the basic documents that determines the development of Turkmenistan's partnership with the UN and its agencies on a systemic basis, and is also based on medium-term and long-term programs and plans for joint activities.
The meeting reviewed the UN recommendations regarding the final assessment of the implementation of the Framework for the period 2021-2025, the work done by each of the five Groups based on the results of the implementation of the said document; as well as the work on developing the next cycle of the Framework for 2026-2030.
Summing up the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs assured that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan will continue to coordinate the development of the document at the interdepartmental level, facilitating the implementation of the SDGs.
