A meeting was held with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran

On February 12, 2025, as part of the visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov to Tehran, a meeting was held with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian.

During the audience, the head of the Foreign Ministry conveyed to the President of Iran warm greetings and best wishes from the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for the kind words and expressed reciprocal greetings to the leadership of Turkmenistan.

Having emphasized the noticeable intensification of Iranian-Turkmen relations, the President noted the importance of the telephone conversation held on February 10 with the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, during which important issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed.

In addition, President Masoud Pezeshkian voiced Iran's commitment to further constructive work with Turkmenistan in the fields of energy, transport, water resources and others.

The parties noted the importance of joint events within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust.
