Meeting with the Regional Director of the International Labour Organization

On February 27, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with the Assistant Director-General, Regional Director of the International Labor Organization (ILO) Beate Andres at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed current issues of interaction and joint activities for the current year, which was declared the International Year of Peace and Trust in accordance with the resolution of the UN General Assembly. It was especially noted that maintaining peace, stability and mutual understanding between people directly affects all spheres of life.

During the meeting, the interlocutors reviewed the results of joint work in 2024 in accordance with the "Roadmap for Joint Activities for 2024-2025".

In addition, the main areas of interaction between the Government of Turkmenistan and the ILO for 2025 were identified. The Turkmen side proposed to organize work on conducting relevant trainings and seminars with the participation of ILO experts.

Particular attention was paid to strengthening the legal framework of Turkmenistan by joining ILO conventions and preparing for upcoming events, in particular the International Labour Conference.
