Working visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan to the State of Qatar

On March 16, 2025, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov met with the Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
At the beginning of the meeting, the parties discussed issues of expanding bilateral relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Emphasizing the development of bilateral cooperation, stable and trusting political dialogue, the ministers noted that the results of the meetings of the Heads of the two states give a great impetus to Turkmen-Qatari relations.
Also during the conversation, the parties emphasized that energy, investment and transport sectors are intended to become promising areas of Turkmen-Qatari relations.
In addition, a detailed exchange of views took place on regional security and development priorities, as well as the socio-economic situation in Afghanistan.
In particular, the progress of construction work on the Serhetabat-Herat section in Afghanistan, which is an important stage in the implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) transnational gas pipeline project, was discussed. The Qatari side highly appreciated cooperation in this area.
The parties also noted the constructive nature of cooperation within the framework of international organizations.
In this regard, it was noted that a representative Forum will be held in our country on December 12, 2025, as part of the International Year of Peace and Trust. In this regard, the Qatari side is invited to take part in the high-level forum.
