Priority areas of Turkmen-Tajik cooperation discussed in Ashgabat

On March 27, 2025, a meeting was held in Ashgabat between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin, who arrived to participate in the ministerial meeting in the Central Asia - European Union format.

During the meeting, it was noted that an important factor in activating the interstate dialogue is the trusting relationship that has developed between the heads of the two countries, as well as the results of meetings and negotiations at the highest levels, which have recently become regular.

The heads of the foreign policy agencies emphasized their constructive attitude to further expanding and strengthening trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the two states.

The discussion also focused on topical issues of regional and global interest. In this context, the parties discussed preparations for the first European Union - Central Asia summit, scheduled to be held in Samarkand in the coming days.

At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors expressed confidence that Turkmen-Tajik relations, based on the principles of centuries-old friendship, spiritual, historical and cultural community of fraternal peoples, will continue to develop successfully.
