Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran

On March 28, 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran Farzaneh Sadegh Malvajerd, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the international conference “Year of Peace and Trust: Development of International Activities for the Sake of Children”.

During the talks, the parties discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. Particular attention was paid to the development of dialogue at the high and highest levels, which, thanks to the efforts of the leaders of the two countries, is being brought to a qualitatively new stage.

The meeting participants noted the important role of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Economic Cooperation in deepening the partnership between the states. In addition, the parties discussed the prospects for strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties.

Following the talks, an agreement was reached on further maintaining regular interaction for the progressive development of Turkmen-Iranian relations.
