National Leader of the Turkmen People Meets with the Minister of State of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

On April 2, 2025, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the Minister of State of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, member of the Cabinet of Ministers Emir Turki bin Mohammed Al Saud.

The interlocutors warmly greeted and congratulated each other on the blessed holiday of Oraza, wishing that the fasts and prayers performed during this holy month would be accepted by the Almighty.

Taking this opportunity, the guest conveyed to the National Leader of the Turkmen people warm words of greeting and best wishes from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince, Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Noting that Saudi Arabia highly appreciates Turkmenistan's achievements in all areas, Emir Turki bin Mohammed Al Saud expressed admiration for the beautiful architectural appearance of Ashgabat and its blooming parks, which made a pleasant impression on him.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude for the kind words and conveyed his best wishes in return to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and members of the royal family.

Having wished the current visit of the state minister of the friendly country to be successful, the National Leader of the Turkmen people expressed confidence that its results will contribute to the further expansion of multifaceted Turkmen-Saudi cooperation.

As noted during the meeting, interstate relations between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are distinguished by openness, mutual respect and a high level of trust.

Having identified the fuel and energy complex, trade, investment, transport and communications, chemical and textile industries, as well as agriculture as promising areas of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, the interlocutors emphasized the need to fully utilize the existing opportunities to increase cooperation in these key areas.

It was noted with satisfaction that the countries successfully cooperate not only on a bilateral basis, but also within the framework of authoritative international organizations, primarily the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

During the discussion, the similarity or closeness of the views of the two countries on key issues of international politics was noted, in particular, on issues of ensuring peace and security, as well as achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, which creates favorable conditions for coordinated interaction between the two friendly countries in the international arena.

In addition, the interlocutors noted the existence of broad opportunities for the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation. In the general opinion, the exchange of experience in the legislative sphere and the establishment of close ties between representatives of parliaments will contribute to the further development of the established cooperation and enrich it with new content.

Hero-Arkadag also identified cultural and humanitarian cooperation as priority areas of Turkmen-Saudi relations, confirming Turkmenistan's readiness to implement specific events that contribute to the rapprochement of the two fraternal peoples.

At the end of the meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Minister of State of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, member of the Cabinet of Ministers Emir Turki bin Mohammed Al Saud exchanged mutual good wishes, expressing confidence in the further successful development of established effective relations in the interests of the two countries and their friendly peoples.
