Special Attention Given to Caspian Issues During Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Ashgabat

During the negotiations between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, particular attention was devoted to the development of five-party cooperation in the Caspian region.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan specifically emphasized the need for coordinated interaction among the littoral states. It was noted that the key areas of cooperation had been clearly outlined during the Sixth Caspian Summit, held on June 29, 2022, in Ashgabat.
An initiative was voiced by the leadership of Turkmenistan to convene a special Summit of the Heads of the Caspian Littoral States to discuss pressing issues and to intensify efforts in maintaining environmental security in the Caspian Sea.
The necessity of finalizing, in the nearest future, the draft agreements in this domain was underlined. The parties agreed to continue an active dialogue on issues concerning the Caspian Sea.
