Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea Begench Durdyyev attended the official events held in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the Liberation Day of the Republic of Korea
On August 15, 2025, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea Begench Durdyyev attended the official events held in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the National Holiday of the Republic of Korea – Liberation Day – with the participation of H.E. Mr. Lee Jae-myung, President of the Republic of Korea, and other members of the Government.
In his address, President Lee Jae-myung highlighted the heroic struggle of the Korean people for freedom, the division of the Korean Peninsula and their aspiration for national reunification, the importance of maintaining the Peninsula free from nuclear weapons, the development of cooperation with Japan as a neighboring state despite historical contradictions, as well as the preparations being undertaken by the Korean side to ensure the successful hosting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit scheduled to take place in the country in the third quarter of this year.
Within the framework of the events, Ambassador B. Durdyyev had the opportunity for a brief conversation with President of the Republic of Korea H.E. Mr. Lee Jae-myung. During this conversation, Ambassador B. Durdyyev conveyed, on behalf of President of Turkmenistan H.E. Mr. Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan H.E. Mr. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, their warm congratulations and cordial greetings on the occasion of the holiday to the Head of State of the Republic of Korea. The Korean side expressed gratitude for the congratulations and greetings and in turn, asked also to convey his greetings and best wishes to the President of Turkmenistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan.
