Meeting of Hero-Arkadag with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran

On 11 December 2025, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, welcomed the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, at Ashgabat International Airport.

The Head of State was presented with bread and salt and flowers.

A meeting between Hero-Arkadag and the President of Iran then took place. The National Leader of the Turkmen people thanked the Head of State for accepting the invitation to participate in the International Forum marking the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality.

Expressing gratitude for the invitation, the President of the neighboring state noted that it was a great honor for him to take part in the upcoming high-level Forum, emphasizing its significance.

It was подчеркнуто that Turkmenistan’s peace-oriented foreign policy, widely supported by the international community, is based on its legal status of permanent neutrality. This unique doctrine, serving as a foundation for ensuring peaceful coexistence, security, and sustainable development in the region, has proven its effectiveness as a tool that has enabled Turkmenistan for 30 years to act as a reliable partner and an active member of the international community.

Hero-Arkadag and the President of Iran expressed confidence that the multifaceted cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran would continue to develop successfully on the basis of mutual respect.
