Meeting of the National Leader of the Turkmen People with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan

On 11 December 2025, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, welcomed the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, upon his arrival in Ashgabat.

In accordance with the traditions of Turkmen hospitality, bread and salt and flowers were presented to the leader of the neighboring state.

A meeting between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was then held at the same location.

The interlocutors expressed satisfaction at the opportunity to meet once again, noting that the regularity of mutual visits testifies to the dynamic nature of interstate dialogue.

Hero-Arkadag thanked the leader of the neighboring country for accepting the invitation to participate in the International Forum dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality. As emphasized, this is a sign of the high respect of the Republic of Uzbekistan and its fraternal people for the Turkmen people.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed gratitude for the invitation and particularly noted the importance of the high-level Forum to be held in Ashgabat. It was emphasized that the Forum would attract the attention of the international community and strengthen the authority of Turkmenistan, which pursues a peace-oriented policy based on the principles of positive neutrality.

During the discussion, confidence was expressed in the further expansion of fruitful Turkmen–Uzbek cooperation.
